Kaypro 2x
Date of Aquisition - May 20rd 2018
I purchased this from a video game swap meet in 2018 at the Free Play Bar Arcade in Providence, RI. I believe I paid $100 for it, and purchased an IBM 5150+monitor and keyboard for another $150 at the same time. (I passed the 5150 onto a friend who was looking for one for that same price)
There were a few issues with it, mostly cracked solder joints, a couple of sketchy looking capacitors, and the RJ9 plug on the keyboard was broken so if you pushed the cable in far enough, it would fall into the keyboard.
I replaced the jack on the keyboard with one from an old phone handset, replaced the caps, and fixed the solder joints. Then the next step was the software

Current specs are:The main things to remember is, you need to get the OS for the Kaypro 2X with the numemerical 2, not the II with the Roman Numeral 2. It's a cool looking machine that I'm glad to have in my collection. I don't really use it much, but it sits in the corner of my office at work as a display piece, which always gets people's attention.
